This is erroneous information and extremely outdated. It was true two years ago, but pay has decreased as well as incentives. The teaching hours have been extended as the company has gone global. Overall, however, there are fewer students because of the new Chinese regulations and the global side has not yet ramped up enough to accommodate the current teachers. There is just too much to correct….I can assure you, however, that it is no longer
a lucrative gig.

Do I need to write to the two Universities and get copies of those two degrees
so that I can provide them to you?

1. Brigham Young University-Provo, UT: Bachelor of Science, 1984
2. Washington State University-Vancouver, WA: Master’s Education, 2000

Thank you for writing such a thorough article. Do you know if they consider tutoring experience to be teaching experience? I’m not sure what to put in the initial application step to this point, as I have worked previously as a language arts tutor, but never a teacher. I know it’s not the same thing, but I don’t want to disadvantage myself by not counting it in this step… Your opinion would be very much appreciated! =)

I just became a teacher with VIP and stumbled across this awesome article. My question is about the pay. My friend said he made $2800 per month at 35 hours a week. I see the ad says you can make $2000 a month working 15-20 hours. I’m having trouble understanding how that all works out. My base rate per class is $8. If I work 20 hours (40 classes) at $8 per class that’s $320. In a four week month that’s just over $1200. Even with the extra $1 or $2, I’m having trouble figuring it all out . You’re a pro at this so I figured you might be able to help to have it make sense! Thanks!

I have an interview on Wed with VIPKID.
I’m a stay at home mother of two, do you have any tips to passing the interview??!
I have a white board and conveniently have plenty of props I can find around the house since my kids are under 3 years of age!
Your article is extremely helpful!!
It’s been 3 years since I last worked so I’m definitely nervous. I would extremely appreciate any more advice you could give me.

Hope to hear from you soon!
I really appreciate your time and effort in helping the rest of us!!!
I really hope I pass and get to experience teaching in the comfort of my home!! I am really excited.

Thank you,

I have a Macbook Air as well and the touchpad works perfect. However, you may find it easier have a mouse especially when you are teaching them about “mouse” and how to use it.

Yes, I believe you can practice in the classroom now with the new recruitment process. Double check with you contact person via email.

Hope this helps Eve.
